What is Genuine Faith

Genuine Faith can be illustrated in another way. For instance you may believe that a chair can fully support your weight. Yet if you are not willing to stand on the chair or even if you merely place one foot on it, either way you show that you don’t trust the chair. This shows no faith at all.

But if you stand with both legs on the chair you really demonstrate that you fully trust the chair. This is genuine faith.

So it is with our faith in God. We may believe that Jesus is the Son of God, He rose from the dead, He is the only way to God and He will keep all His promises, and yet if we don't take a step of faith to invite Him into your lives and follow His teachings, we show that we don't really trust Him. But if we take a step of faith and decide to follow Him and no other gods, than we show genuine faith.

He commanded us to trust Him and Him alone as our Saviour and Lord. John 14:6 says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

When we place our faith in too many gods, we are going to be disappointed. It is some thing like standing on two boats. You know what will happen. When any one of the boats start moving, we will fall in between and get drowned and lost.

Therefore, you should make a decision depending upon the credibility of the person whom you are going to trust. Jesus is trust worthy. He is the Son of God who rose from the dead and lives for ever. He is able to fulfill all of God's promises no matter how many of them there are.

It is a universal truth that "A dead man cannot keep his promises". Only a living person can keep his promises. Jesus said in Revelation 21:6-8,

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of water of life without cost. He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. But the cowardly and the unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

This is your life.

You cannot afford to gamble with it. You cannot leave this decision for another person to make for you. You are responsible to God for your life. Be wise and bold and make that decision today. The following are few things you need to know before you receive Christ:

Once you receive Him by faith, trust that He is lives in your life and tell others confirming your Salvation.

You should not be ashamed of Jesus, because He is your risen Saviour and Lord. Matthew 8:38 Paul says,

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Do you sincerely desire to have this kind of genuine faith? If yes, you may proceed to "How to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord."
